Military Science Minor Requirements

Each student enrolled in the ROTC Advanced Course and who completes the 20 units (17 upper-division) necessary for commissioning will be eligible for a Minor in Military Science. Coordination with the department faculty advisor is required.

MS 50A - Freshman Leadership Laboratory Units: 1
MS 50B - Sophomore Leadership Laboratory Units: 1
MS 131 - Training Management and the Warfighting Functions Units: 3
MS 132 - Applied Leadership in Small Unit Operations Units: 3
MS 141 - The Army Officer Units: 3
MS 142 - Company Grade Leadership Units: 3
MS 150A - Junior Leadership Laboratory Units: 1
MS 150B - Senior Leadership Laboratory Units: 1
MS 192 - Military History Units: 3
KAC 21 - Elementary Strength Training Units: 1

Total: 20 Units

Note: The Military Science Minor also requires a 2.0 GPA and 6 upper-division units in residence.

Professional Military Education Requirements (PME). In addition to the required courses above, students in the ROTC Advanced Course must fulfill prescribed professional military education requirements by satisfactorily completing courses in written communication, human behavior, military history, and computer literacy. Students must obtain approval from their military science department faculty advisor to ensure their planned course of study will satisfy this requirement prior to graduation and commissioning.
