The College of Science and Mathematics is dedicated to the holistic preparation of the next generation of scientists and mathematicians for vital and diverse careers in STEM using innovative High Impact Practices. The College provides professional training at the undergraduate and graduate levels to serve as a foundation for a career in science or mathematics, to provide preprofessional training in preparation for careers in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, veterinary medicine, and other professions or for continued study at the graduate level.

The college offers a  Bachelor of Arts in Natural Sciences which serves as a waiver program for the Single Subject Teaching Credential in Science. With the Science Credential, students are able to teach any introductory science class, i.e. earth, general, life, or physical science along with the courses in their chosen emphasis. Advising

The Science and Mathematics Advising and Resources Center is located in the Science I Building, Room 136. The staff are here to assist students in the College of Science and Mathematics in achieving their goals, both academically and professionally and provide students with the following resources and services: 

  • Academic advising
  • Pre-professional advising 
  • Research and internship advising 
  • Career exploration, resume assistance, and other career development services provided by the Career Development Center professionals
  • Information on student organizations, clubs, and professional programs
