SPAN 143 - Introduction to Spanish-American Literature

Prerequisite: SPAN 3  or SPAN 4B  recommended
Selected readings from those literary works which have fundamentally affected the development of Spanish American civilization, from Hernan Cortes to Octavio Paz. Provides an historical framework for the study of Spanish American literature.
