SOC 130W - Contemporary Social Issues Prerequisite: GE Foundation A2 with a C grade or better; SOC 1 or SOC 1S and SOC 3 or SOC 3S with a C grade or better for Sociology majors and minors A sociological perspective is used to examine currently debated public issues. Often, public issues involve present or proposed public policies; the impact of these policies on different segments of society is assessed. Meets the upper-division writing skills requirement for graduation.
