The Department of Educational Leadership
The P12 Administration Program integrates the California Preliminary Administrative Services Credential (PASC) with the Master of Arts (MA) in Educational Leadership and Administration. For those who qualify, PASC only and internship options are available. The program enrolls new students twice a year. Students enrolled in the master’s and credential program can complete the program in 3 semesters with a total of 30 units in conjunction with passing the state performance assessment. For students who have already earned a master’s degree and are pursuing the credential-only option, the program can be completed in 3 semesters with a total of 22 units in conjunction with passing the state performance assessment. Graduates earning the Preliminary Administrative Services Credential are authorized to serve in administrative roles in California P-12 public schools such as a principal, vice-principal, program director, or any related administrative assignment at all school levels.
Admission Requirements
The P12 Administration Program requires the following documentation: application to Cal State Apply and Kremen School of Education and Human Development P12 Administration Program, 2.75 GPA, transcript of undergraduate degree and credential completion (and MA or MS degree for PASC only applications) to satisfy the basic skills requirement, a Clear or life California prerequisite credential (See CTC terms and definitions for current list), two letters of recommendation, statement of purpose, current resume, and current district of employment human resources letter that verifies at least 3.5 years of experience in an educational setting or at least 5 years of experience for those seeking the internship option (both excluding Teacher on Special Assignment).

Administrative Internship Option Requirements
Administrative Internship Option Requirements The Administrative Internship Option is exclusively for students accepted and enrolled in the P12 Administration Program with at least 5-years experience in education (see program requirements above) and an offer of employment in an administrative position in a California public school. Students shall seek advisement from the program coordinator upon offer of employment to start the collaboration with the KSOEHD credential analyst and the HR department of the employment district on necessary paperwork for the recommendation to the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CA CTC) for the administrative internship credential. Supervised Internship Practicum Upon CA CTC issuance of the administrative internship credential and with program coordinator approval, students must enroll in one of the following respective internship courses with a university-assigned coach until program completion: Total PASC + Administrative Internship Option Units: 25-31
Advising Notes - Up to 6 units of ELA 287 or ELA 288 can be used to satisfy the elective requirements in the Additional Requirements section of the MA in Educational Leadership and Administration Program.
