Health Administration, B.S.


The Department of Public Health  

Mission: The Bachelor of Science Health Administration Major is to enhance the profession through education and research by preparing early and mid-level professionals to meet the needs of the dynamic health care system and to become future health care leaders in the Central Valley, the United States and beyond. The program provides essential learning opportunities with a focus on diversity, and culturally appropriate, patient centered service delivery systems to address the needs of a global health care marketplace.

Our mission is to prepare undergraduate students for effective leadership roles in healthcare management. The curriculum provides the knowledge, skills, abilities and values to succeed in healthcare management.

Admission Requirement: Admission to the major requires a minimum GPA of 2.75.

*General Education, Additional University Graduation Requirements, and Upper-division Writing courses can be double counted with major/additional requirements. These courses include BA 105W  (see note 3), ECON 40  (GE Area 4B), and PH 92  or MATH 11  (GE Area 2). See advisor for details.

Advising Notes


  1. A minimum grade of C is required in all Health Science courses.
  2. Health science majors may not apply CR/NC grading toward major requirements for a baccalaureate degree, except for PH 185I , which is a mandatory CR/NC course.
  3. BA 105W  will fulfill health administration major writing requirement.
