Accounting, Certificate of Special Study

The Department of Accountancy offers a Certificate of Special Study in Accounting. This certificate is designed to prepare individuals who are pursuing (or have earned) a degree other than accounting to gain practical accounting knowledge and an enhanced understanding of financial practices that may be applied across various career paths and industries.

To be eligible for this certificate, the student must meet one of the following criteria:

Be currently majoring towards (or have completed) a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from an accredited university.
Have an Associate of Arts or Science degree from a two-year accredited college.

For successful completion of this certificate, the student must receive a grade of C or better in each course. Each course prerequisite must be met unless the department approves alternative satisfactory courses. Open to all students and community members (within the eligibility criteria above).
