CFS 161 - Conflict and Connection in Family Relationships Prerequisite: CFS 31 or CFS 32 ; and open only to Child and Family Science majors or minors Examine theories and empirical findings related to conflict, intimacy, and interaction in familial relationships such as parent-child, sibling, romantic, and grandparent-grandchild. Coverage of diverse family types including step, LGBTQ+, and multigenerational. Investigate positive and sub-optimal relational experiences with special attention paid to the development of skills for navigating conflict and connection, including nonviolent communication and relational justice.
