NURS 246 - Methods of Psychotherapy Across the Lifespan


Prerequisite: Admission to the program or permission of the instructor
This didactic course reviews foundational theories, models, and principles of psychotherapy for mental health disorders across the lifespan. Emphasis is on individual, group, and family interventions for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. Students apply cognitive, behavioral, psychodynamic, and humanistic modalities in varied settings while developing techniques, interviewing skills, therapeutic communication, and cultural awareness.
