ECON 183 - Political Economy of the Middle East


GE Area/Graduation Requirement: GE Area UD 4 (formerly GE ID)

Prerequisite: GE Areas 1A, 1B, 1C, 2 (Foundation), Area 4 (formerly GE Area D) and PLSI 2  
A survey of historical, social, cultural, political, and economic development, economic development in the Middle East. An examination of Western colonial policies, the creation of modern states and their political and economic policies, the role of religion, and cultural heritage.
