CFS 131 - Family Theories

Prerequisite: Open only to majors and minors in Child and Family Science.
An advanced review of family theories and their impact on issues such as gender, roles in family functioning, communication, power dynamics. Theories include Symbolic Interactionism, Family Systems Theory, Ecological Systems Theory, Family Stress Theory, Feminist Theory, Conflict Theory, Gottman’s Sound Relationship House, Family Development Theory, and Life Course Theory.
