ANTH 165 - Introduction to Forensic Anthropology GE Area/Graduation Requirement: GE Area UD 2/UD 5 (formerly GE IB)
Forensic anthropology is the study of the hard tissues of the body (bones, teeth, hair and fingernails) within a medicolegal context. Forensic anthropologists examine the hard tissues of the body to understand the circumstances of suspicious or unexplained deaths. This course provides students an introduction to the history and methods of forensic anthropology with assignments based on real world cases and problems designed for them to apply the methods they have learned.
