The minor requires 20-21 units in Mathematics with a minimum of six (6) upper-division units in residence at Fresno State.
Mathematically inclined students in majors such as Liberal Studies often seek the flexibility and job prospects of becoming full-time mathematics teachers at the middle school or 9th-grade secondary levels. This minor, which not only focuses on content but also pedagogy, is designed for students who will eventually seek or have a multiple-subject or single-subject credential in another subject, allowing them to add on the California Supplementary Authorization in Mathematics.
