Transportation and Cities Certificate Objectives
The Certificate in Transportation and Cities studies the integrated planning of transportation, land use, and environment. It includes courses that introduce students to transportation planning and design, transportation and land use dynamics, and the impacts of transportation on the environment and public health.

Transportation and Cities Certificate Requirements
The certificate requires 13 units total, of which 6 units are technical electives. Technical Electives (6 units)
Choose six (6) units from the following technical electives (units can be double-counted): Certificate Advising Notes
- Prerequisites can be waived upon the approval of the course instructor.
- All courses counting toward the Certificate must be taken on a letter-grade basis and must be completed with a grade of C or higher. The Transportation Studies Certificate requires a 2.25 GPA.
- Students are advised to seek their advisor’s input upon course selections.
- The Civil Engineering Program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
