Transportation and Cities, Minor

This minor program emphasizes the integrated planning of transportation, land use, and environment. It includes courses that introduce students to transportation planning and design, transportation and land use dynamics, and the impacts of transportation on the environment and public health.

Transportation and Cities Requirements


The minor requires 22 units total, of which 12 are technical electives.

Minor Advising Notes


  • Prerequisites can be waived upon the approval of the course instructor.
  • All courses counting toward the minor must be taken on a letter-grade basis and must be completed with a grade of C or higher. The Transportation Studies Minor requires a 2.25 GPA.
  • Students are advised to seek their advisor’s input upon course selections.
  • The Civil Engineering Program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
