The Department of Kinesiology  

The Master of Arts in Sport Administration is a one-year graduate program designed to prepare students for leadership roles in the sport industry. The 30-unit accelerated program emphasizes career readiness, leadership development, and hands-on sport experience through applied coursework and professional internships.

The Sport Administration graduate program is designed to accelerate your sport career in just one year. Through real-world assignments, students build industry connections, develop their personal brand, craft targeted résumés, and gain career clarity through guided reflection and mentorship. The program is structured to help students graduate with the skills, experience, and confidence needed to take the next step in their professional journey.

Admission Requirements

  1. The Master of Arts in Sport Administration assumes undergraduate preparation equivalent to a California State University, Fresno major in kinesiology, sport, business, or a related field.
  2. Three reference letters

Graduate Writing Requirement and Advancement to Candidacy

All students must pass a written qualifying exam before advancement to candidacy. The university graduate-level writing skills requirement is met by successful completion of this step. See the Graduate Program Coordinator for more information.

Degree Requirements


Electives (6 units)


Elective coursework includes any KINES 200-level course(s) or approved outside area course(s).

Culminating Experience


Students are required to complete a comprehensive exam, and must be Advanced to Candidacy prior to taking the exam.
