Serving High-Risk Youth, Certificate of Special Study


​The Department of Recreation Administration  

The Certificate in Serving High-Risk Youth prepares future youth service providers to address the challenges faced by youth who experience significant risk factors, including poverty, trauma, family instability, and various social or environmental barriers. The certificate offers an overview of the critical issues affecting high-risk youth, as well as the concerns related to the services required to meet their needs.

The certificate is awarded to students who successfully complete 12 designated units of upper-division coursework. This certificate is available to all students.

All coursework to be applied to this certificate must be completed with a minimum grade of C.
