Bachelor of Arts Degree Requirements
The theatre arts major, dance major, and minors are designed to provide competencies in theatre and dance for students who intend to pursue study beyond the Bachelor of Arts degree, who are preparing for careers in teaching or for the professional performing arts. With the assistance of their advisors and with departmental approval, students follow a track of advanced courses specializing in the areas of Acting or Design/Technology or Theatre Education, or students may opt for advanced courses covering a broad range of study by selecting the General track. The Dance program offers intensive studies in dance performance, choreography, and theory.

Other Degree Requirements
In addition to the major program requirements, every student must also complete the University’s baccalaureate degree requirements such as:
- American Government and Institutions (PLSI 2 )
- General Education Requirements (48 units)
- Multicultural and International (MI)
- Upper-division Writing
- Sufficient Elective Units to Meet Required Total Units (varies); it is recommended that units in this area be utilized to complete a second major or minor.

Advising Notes
- New majors must enroll in DRAMA 10 (fall) and acting emphasis students must enroll in DANCE 20 (spring) during their first year in the program.
- Students must meet with their advisor each semester for program approval.
- CR/NC grading is not permitted in the theatre arts major.
