Correctional Recreation, Certificate of Special Study

This certificate of special study is intended to explore the specialty of correctional recreation. The need for trained correctional recreation employees can be found in federal and state prisons, county jails, and juvenile justice centers. The certificate is awarded to undergraduate students who complete 12 units of upper-division coursework selected to provide an overview of correctional recreation and the skills and knowledge needed to be successful in this career field. The certificate is open to all students. All coursework to be applied to this certificate must be completed with a minimum grade of C.
