The Department of Physical Therapy offers an entry-level post-baccalaureate Doctor of Physical Therapy which meets professional education requirements to become a licensed physical therapist in all 50 states.
The doctorate in Physical Therapy (D.P.T.) is the educational standard for the field and required for physical therapy licensure. Physical Therapy is a profession dedicated to the improvement of the quality of life. It serves humanity, which is holistic in nature and provides services to persons of all ages, gender and cultures. In concert with the mission of the university and to meet the needs of the community, the physical therapy department faculty has developed the following mission statement.
Mission and Vision Statement
The mission of Fresno State Doctor of Physical Therapy is to graduate a diverse contemporary physical therapist who is committed to service, advocacy, and innovative approaches to inclusive health care.
The vision is to continually foster an educational program that promotes reflective, service -oriented physical Therapy leaders who are sensitive to local and global issues and transform society through best practice and innovative research.
