Prerequisite: GE Areas 1A, 1B, 1C, 2 (Foundation) and Area 3 (formerly GE Area C)
Interdisciplinary analysis of representations of women, gender, and sexuality across genres, emphasizing popular culture/mass media. Includes critical assessment of historic and contemporary representations and impacts on cultural/societal experiences, identity, equality/justice. Some attention to media institutions, women as creators, alternative narratives.
