SPAN 4B - Spanish for the Bilingual Student and Heritage Student
Prerequisite: GE Area 1A (formerly GE A2); SPAN 4A recommended or permission of instructor For bilingual/heritage students who grew up with Spanish as their home language, are comfortable speaking it, and have previous formal study of Spanish. Emphasis on productive language skills, grammar, advanced reading comprehension, and culture using Peninsular and Latin American texts. Strengthens students’ confidence in the language and their identity as bilinguals/heritage speakers. Good preparation for Upper-Division courses (SPAN minor/major).
GE Area/Graduation Requirement: Arts/Humanities (A/H)
Units: 3 Course Typically Offered: Fall, Spring
