NURS 244 - Advanced Psychopharmacology Across the Life Span

Prerequisite: Admission to the program or permission of the instructor
This didactic course provides advanced scientific knowledge and clinical application of psychotropic medications in the treatment of psychiatric and mental health conditions across the lifespan. Topics include the principles of neuroscience, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, adverse drug effects, drug-drug interactions, and medication selection strategies. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based psychopharmacologic management of acute and chronic psychiatric disorders in various settings.
