Introductory seminar covering patterns and extent of substance abuse, models of addiction, assessment and diagnosis, legal ramifications, physiological effects, characteristics of drugs, treatment approaches, prevention and ethical issues. This course includes readings, lectures, presentations, class discussions and student activities.
