ME 221 - Incompressible Fluids Prerequisite: ME 156 or permission of coordinator The kinematics of liquids and gases, the LaGrangian and Eulerian methods, streak lines, stream tubes. Geometry of the vector field, stokes, and Gauss’s theorems, acceleration of a fluid particle, homogenous fluids and the equations of continuity. Integration of Eutor’s equation, Bernoulli’s equation. Potential motion and potential functions, source and sink potentials, the stream function. Vortex theory, surfaces of discontinuity.
