LS 111 - Literacies, Languages, and Literature

This course explores the teaching of Literacies, Languages, and Literature while examining theories, research, and practices of literacies, this course will provide an introduction to literacy assessment and instructional approaches to reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Through guiding principles of Culturally Sustaining Pedagogy (CSP) and Universal Design for Learning (UDL), students will develop knowledge of children’s literature and explore ways to integrate children’s literature into elementary curricula.
